Panera Bread® Celebrates New Bakery-Cafe Location in Aurora

 

AURORA, Colo., July 20, 2016 – On July 20, Panera Bread® will open a new bakery-cafe at 23950 E. Smoky Hill Road in Aurora. The new location will offer the convenience of a drive-thru, new Fast Lane Kiosks, Rapid Pick Up and Panera’s menu of made-to-order sandwiches, tossed-to-order salads and soups served in bread bowls made of only the freshest, highest quality ingredients.

AURORA - A Lotto ticket worth $6.37 million that was sold in Aurora two weeks ago has been claimed.

A woman from Aurora claimed the winning ticket in the July 17 drawing and took the $3.8 million lump-sum cash option, Colorado Lottery officials said Wednesday.

Live music, laser lights and family entertainment- the 8th Annual Celebrate Centennial Under the Stars event has a new twist this year. This signature community event is scheduled for Saturday, August 3 at Centennial Center Park, located at 13050 E. Peakview Ave (adjacent to the Centennial Civic Center). Entertainment begins at 6:00 p.m.

There will be a variety of entertainment for the entire family including: a children’s planting station presented by Tagawa Gardens, interactive outdoor games and contests, face painting, balloon sculptors, 
bounce house, South Suburban Kid’s Fitness Van, Food, beer and wine will be for sale throughout the event. The beer and wine pavilion is hosted by the Centennial Rotary, Live music provided by Rachel and The Kings and THE LONG RUN – Experience The Eagles tribute band. Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to reserve a spot in the amphitheatre.

“We look forward to introducing a new and exciting laser light show to the City’s signature Celebrate Centennial Under the Stars event in our very own Centennial Center Park!” says Mayor Cathy Noon. “This summer celebration brings families together at what is becoming the ‘heart’ of our City and builds a true sense of community.”

Please bring new and gently used baby blankets to help support the Arapahoe County Early Childhood Council's blanket drive. Items will be donated to needy child care centers in the area. All who donate will be entered into a drawing for a toy prize package.

Amphitheatre entertainment schedule:
7:15 p.m. – 8:20 p.m. – Rachel and The Kings
8:45 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. – The LONG RUN- Experience The Eagles & Laser Light Show

General admission is FREE for all ages Wednesday-Thursday (July 24-25) and just $5 for ages 13 and up 

on Friday-Sunday (July 26-28). Kids ages 12 and under get in free all week. Parking is $5 per vehicle daily. 

Carnival rides and midway games are sold separately. Buy tokens and pay-per-ride, or get a daily unlimited 

carnival ride pass for $25.

7/20 Day of Remembrance

A Day of Remembrance is being planned on July 20. It will be a multifaceted day of meaningful remembrance, continued healing and positive community actions. 

The day will begin with a community gathering and morning ceremony to honor and remember those whose lives were lost, survivors and their loved ones. The ceremony will be followed by a variety of healing activities such as meditation and reflection, counseling, yoga and art and music activities. Groups and individuals can pre-register for a number of community service projects that will take place around Aurora that day. Activities at the Aurora Municipal Center, 15151 E. Alameda Parkway

7:30 a.m., Community Gathering followed by an 8:30 a.m. Ceremony – Aurora Municipal Center Lawn

9 a.m. – 2 p.m., Healing Activities – Aurora Municipal Center 
Healing activities will include spiritual counseling, mental health counseling, art therapy projects, yoga, a nature walk and a poetry reading. Activities will also be scheduled at the Aurora Strong Resilience Center located at 1298 Peoria St. The Aurora Strong Community Resilience Center will open to the public in mid-July, officially opening its doors to all Aurora residents who have been affected by trauma, or who simply want to learn resilience and coping skills to prepare themselves for unexpected trauma.
